It’s been about an hour now since I left Spencer back at UCLA and I’ve been sitting here in my office, texting her nonstop ever since.

“Davies, quit it with the phone. You’re still on duty remember?” My boss said from the doorway, startling me and causing me to drop my phone on the floor.

“Sorry Sir. Won’t happen again.” I said apologetically.

“See that it doesn’t.” He said, raising an eyebrow at me then disappearing out the door.

I let out a sigh of relief at his exit. Damn that man can be scary.

I reached down to pick up my phone from the floor only to beat to the punch.

“Aiden, what the fuck! Give it back.” I demanded my frustration distinct in my voice.

I jumped up from my chair to retrieve my phone, but Aiden held it high above his head while reading my text messages. Could he be anymore immature?

“Woo baby, who’s Spencer Ash?” Aiden asked, making whistling noises.

“I’ll give you five seconds to give me back my phone Aiden.” I told him completely annoyed by his taunting.

“Spencer says she can’t wait to see you tonight.” The tall brunette teased.

“Damn it Aiden, give me my phone now!” I yelled at my partner not caring about the scene we were creating.

I kept jumping trying to reach my phone, but it was no use. Me being only 5’4 and Aiden easily over 6 feet, I didn’t stand a chance.

“Hmm I think I’ll just tell Spencer what you like to do in bed. Yeah that’ll get her hooked.” Aiden said, beginning to type out a message. That is until I elbowed him hard in the stomach. “Ugh” Aiden grunted, dropping his arms so I could snatch my phone from his hands.

I laughed wickedly at the sight of my powerhouse of a partner impaired by a blow to the stomach from a girl. I then looked at my phone and responded to Spencer’s text.

Ashley: Can’t wait to see u too beautiful =) I’ll call u when I get off work.

I shut my phone and glanced at Aiden to find him giving me a smirk.

“What?” I questioned the sly smile he had on his face.

“So when do I get to meet her?” He asked.

“Aiden that’s enough. I just met her today, plus you’re really good at making anyone I introduce you to feel awkward.” I told him honestly. “Plus I really like Spencer and I don’t want you to scare her away.”

“Ouch. Harsh much?”  Aiden said looking a little hurt by my comment.

“Well it’s true. Remember Amy?” I asked the mopey brunette.

“Yeah I just asked her a few questions to make sure she was good enough for you. What’s so wrong with that?”

“A few Questions? Try like 50! You even brought out your tape recorder that we use in investigations Aiden!” I yelled, trying to get my point across his thick head. “Look I know you’re just looking out for me, but please leave your job at home when it comes to my dates okay?” I said in a calmer voice.

“Alright Ash.” Aiden agreed, sounding a little let down.

Thankfully a text from Spencer came in, interrupting mine and Aiden’s rather depressing conversation.

Spencer: Kay. What did u have in mind for tonight?

Ashley: I was thinking we could hit up this new club in LA. What do u think?

Spencer: Sounds great. See u later

I was so excited that Spencer and I were going out tonight that I almost forgot Aiden was still in the room. I looked up at him and noticed he was still sporting a pout.

“Oh come here and give me a hug, you know I love you.” I said, walking over to Aiden to pull his muscular frame into a tight hug. “We got work to do, so let’s go finish our last patrol for the afternoon and get the hell outta here.” I said enthusiastically, knowing tonight was going to be a good one.
