Kyla’s Pov

Ashley and I have been sitting here in silence for the past, hang on a sec, 6 and 3/4 minutes. We’re sitting on opposite sides of the bench. She better start talking soon because I don’t know if you knew this but, Ohio gets snow. A lot. And Ashley bolted out of the house with just a hoodie on and all I’m wearing is one of Ashley’s old hand-me-down baggy Gap sweatshirts. I’m not even wearing tennis shoes, I’m wearing flip-flops. Why I brought flip-flops to Ohio is beyond me, but that’s besides the point right now.

"Kyla, I’m ready to talk" Ashley finally said. She took longer than usual, this is really bothering her.

"Okay, I’m ready to listen, I always am and you know that Ash." I told her to try and make her feel better.

"Okay, so Spencer never told me about her ex-girlfriend, Carmen, we’ve been dating for a year and she never told me about her. She never even told me she had a girlfriend, ever! Let alone a gorgeous one!" Ashley got up and started pacing. I tried to cut in but she wouldn’t stop.

"Well maybe it-" I started

"She was absolutely gorgeous, Kyla! She had long brown hair, haunting eyes, perfect smile, God the list goes on!"

"Sounds like-" I tried again.

"You wanna know the worst part, the part that was absolute hell?!" Ashley interrupted again.

 "What, Ash?" I asked, thinking it would be best if I just let my sister talk and get everything out. Hehe. Out. Gay humour.

"Are you even listening to me?! Hello?! Kyla Marie!" Oh crap. I’m in some trouble know.

"Um, ye-"

"No, you weren’t, you were probably laughing at your own mental jokes." She knows me all to well. "I said, the worst part is, is that she kept a box of pictures of Carmen, notes she wrote her, things she gave her. Ashley said sitting back down. She took her glasses off and rubbed her eyes.

"Are you crying?" I asked in disbelief.

"No."

"Ashley Elizabeth Davies. Is crying. Over a girl! Oh my God!" The last time I saw her cry was when she got a B on her science project, and she did it at the last minute, too!
