    Flipside – (Chapter: I’ll Meet You on the Flipside)

    Have you ever woken up from a dream and felt like something was missing?  Well welcome to my life.  I’m Spencer Carlin, and I was in a coma for three years.  Yes, that’s right, three years.  To top it off, I had no idea I was even in the damn thing because I created an amazing fantasy world in my head.  Yeah I know, it’s fucked up.  But now that I’m back in my “real world” I find it hard to even function.  So like I said before, have you ever woken up from a dream and felt like something was missing?  For me that something was someone, and her name is Ashley Davies.  Here, let me explain more thoroughly.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Two years ago.
    “You’ve been in a coma for three years.  And now you’re finally awake!”  This is what my brother Glen tells me when I first wake up.  He was never one to break news subtly.
    “I-I don’t understand Glen.  How could I have been in a coma?  I-I-“ and then it hits me.  I think back to the “life” I thought I was living for the last three years.  It got so fucked up towards the end.  I was confused; things would be one way and then the other.  I look up at him and start to cry.  “Where is Ashley?”  I plead to him.
    “She left Spence.”  Glen told me.  My stomach felt empty.
    “Where did she go?”  I asked my brother again nervously.
    “She first went to New York Spence but she could be anywhere by now.  I’ve tried to get in touch with her but, she’s a big shot now.  I can’t even get to her publicist let alone herself.”
    I stare up at the ceiling.  I felt like shit.  I felt weak. I felt betrayed. Was it right to feel like that?  Was it right to be pissed at someone who was never truly “with” you?  I try to hold back the hurt thinking of maybe someone other than myself for an instance.  “Where is mom and Clay?  And dad! How are they?  I want to see them.”  I cry out to Glen.
    “They are on their way Spence.”
