“So where are we going?”  Spencer asked eyeing their surroundings cheerfully.  Ashley smiled knowing this would be the first question out of her girlfriend’s mouth.  However she would not relent.

 

“You’ll see.  Just sit back, we’ll be there in no time.”  Both girls sat comfortably in the car, listening to an old 80′s rock station.  Spencer quietly sang the lyrics to Whitesnake’s Here I Go Again as the gentle tune echoed through the vehicle.

 

Ashley smiled, “I didn’t know you liked Whitesnake.”  Spencer nodded, “There’s a lot you don’t know about me.”

 

“Really huh?  Like what?”  Ashley’s smile remained.

 

“Well…for instance, I always close my eyes when I brush my teeth.”  Spencer shrugged unsure of what to say.

 

“Wow Spence, you are so…complex.”  Ashley giggled as she was playfully poked by her girlfriend.

 

“I am.  Now your turn.”  She turned her body to face the brunette.  Ashley reached over and held Spencer’s hand in hers.

 

“This stays between us, got it?”  Spencer nodded as Ashley continued, “Promise?”  Again the blonde bobbed her head, “Promise.”

 

Ashley took a deep breath as if this revelation would change her life forever.  “I used to love the Spice Girls.  The music, the movie, the girls, everything…Sad yes, it was almost an obsession.  Again Spencer Carlin, this stays between us!”  Spencer suppressed a giggle by placing her free hand over her mouth.

 

“I never would’ve guessed, Ashley Davies, a Spice Girls fan.”  Ashley shrugged at her response, feeling much better after having revealed her secret.  “Honestly Ash…the Spice Girls?!”  Spencer finally broke into a fit of giggles.

 

The friendly exchanged lasted another two hours until they had finally arrived at their destination.  ‘Topanga Ranch’ was intricately carved in a rustic fashion onto a sign that hung off the right of the dirt road.  A medium sized building was surrounded by two small barns and several large pens.  Within the pens, numerous animals could be barely seen billowing in their yards however most were asleep in their respective barn.

 

Ashley pulled into the ranch’s small parking lot.  She quickly hopped out and made her way to Spencer’s side.  Opening her door and extending her hand, she smiled brightly.  “Shall we?”  The blonde could do nothing but smile from ear to ear as she latched onto Ashley’s hand and let the brunette lead.
