It’s never about what I wanted – (Chapter: From my past)

“Aunt Spencer!!!”, Screamed two very energetic four year olds in unison before hurling themselves at her. Spencer picked her goddaughters off the ground and squeezed them tight. She gave their mother a small smile before putting the energetic girls down and they practically tackled there poor father to the ground grabbing onto him.

“How are you holding up, Spencer?” Madison asked her giving her a small hug and a reassuring kiss on the cheek.

“Well, I only thought about running into traffic four or five times through out the day so I’m going to take that as a good sign.”

Madison gave her a sad smile and let her answer be what it was for now instead of pushing her.

“Ok girls,” Aiden said putting down his twins, “Why don’t you go watch cartoons, so me, Mommy and Aunt Spencer can talk.” The two girls happily bounced off to their play room while the grownups made their way into the living room.

They all sat there in kind of an awkward silence. Spencer’s two friends wanting so much to be granted with something to say to ease the pain Spencer was in. Finally at a complete loss Madison got off the couch and walked to the chair Spencer was in taking her hand gently in hers and giving it a small squeeze. The gesture although small was all it took for Spencer to break down again. She didn’t see how she had any tears left.

“Aiden, can you give us a minute.”

Aiden looked at his wife apprehensible before nodding and heading off in the direction of his children.

When it seemed Spencer had calmed down enough for Madison to get through to her, she made sure the blonde was well and truly listening to her before she spoke.

“Are you finished?” She said it as if she was speaking to one of the twins. Spencer didn’t know where she was going with this so she simply nodded.

“Good. Those were the last tears you’re going to cry over her.” Spencer started to argue but she was quickly cut off. “No, those are the last tears you’re going to cry over her. She doesn’t deserve your tears Spencer. She just made the dumbest mistake of her entire life and if she can’t see that then she’s not worth it.”

    1. I’m kind of proud of Spence for not crying anymore over Ashley because if Ashley can’t stand up to her dad, then she doesn’t deserve Spencer’s tears. On the other hand, I don’t want her to get over Ashley because they so obviously love each other very much. It’s all Mr. Davies fault. I hate him. But I love this story.
