dark blue – (Chapter: pump it up)

Red was sauntering towards the couple with purpose, taking care to prop  those overly larged sunglasses on top of her head when she was within a five foot radius. By now, Spencer had noticed her too. Honestly, it would have been hard not too. She silently demanded attention. I mean, you could sense her aura. She reeked of danger, fun, intelligence. That’s probably why her red locks fit her so well–This girl was a fireball in every way possible. Freckles were sown across her cheeks and her eyes were a piercing sky blue. X-Ray eyes. Sometimes you got scared she could see right through. Nevertheless, she was closing in.

"Hey! Sorry, you guys were the only friendly faces in a sea of inquistive ones." Ashley and Spencer smirked. It was hard to find a friendly face at King. "Could you point me in the direction of the deans office?" "Deans Off–" Ashley interruped Spencer, clearly intrigued by the new girl. "Down the hall, first door on your left" Ashley replied. "And for the record, it’s the main office." Red threw back a thank you as she hurried in the right direction and rounded the corner. Ashley and Spencer looked at each other smiling and shaking there heads. "We’re going to be late for class" Spencer said, lacing her hand with Ashley’s. "And the world shall come to an end" her girlfriend replied. They shared a quick kiss before scuttering off to class.

"Sarah Van DerGeest, 17 years old. Older brother: Trey Van DerGeest, also 17 years old. Twins. Previously attended Philips Academy Andover but was forced to move from the suburbs of New York for ’personal reasons’. Missed the admission deadlines for every private school in L.A and is now stuck with us. The good men and women of King High." You have to give it to Aiden, the guy has sources. "So sketchy, Aiden" Ashley muttered, stealing one of Spencer’s french fries. "Hey!" Spencer exclaimed, punching Ashley’s arm playfully. "What can I say? The network is always reliable" Aiden shrugged in his defense. The network he was referring to was as old as time. Affectionately known as the P.N.G.N, the Players New Girl Network was a small conglemorate of the elite (the boys basketball team) who took it upon themselves to dig up as much information as possible on any new girl who sauntered unintentionally, looking for a little academic rigor, into their midst. In truth, it was reliable–the boys always got the job done. "I’m not even going to ask" Spencer replied, helping herself to another fry. The first half of classes were over and the threesome was sunbathing, enjoying the few moments of unscheduled peace. "One things for sure: She’s hott" Surprisingly, this wasn’t Aiden. Ashley threw her arms up in defense, "What? She is! I mean…" Aiden laughed so hard there were tears in his eyes. And why not? The look Spencer gave Ashley was priceless. If facial expressions could set things ablaze (dependent upon their intensity, of course) Ashley would’ve been gone and replaced with a large scorched circle in her honor. "Spencer…" Ashley scooted a little closer to her seething girlfriend, leaning over to whisper something naughty in her ear. Spencer’s blush of anger quickly morped into a blush of embarassment. Aiden looked, clearly confused, from Ashley to Spencer and back to Ashley. "Whatever. Anyways, lucky for you, she’s batting for the gay-mo’s" "No way!" Spencer exclaimed, no longer blushing. Her attention was now turned towards Aiden and this newest piece of information. "She’s gay? Wow…Where do you buy a gay-dar?" Spencer muttered, polishing off her bottle of dasani. "There might be a few on sale at Ebay" Ashley laughed. "However, mine is impeccable which is why I could’ve told you that." She continued "She didn’t just approach us cause we looked friendly" Spencer smiled, shaking her head. "You’re ridiculous, Ashley. But I love you" Ashley giggled, tucking a strand of Spencer’s hair behind her ear. "I love you too" They stared into each others eyes, an act that might’ve made Madison vomit on the spot. "I love you three?" Aiden said, hoping to get a little bit of the love coming his way. The girls broke eye contact and succumbed to laughter. "We love you too, Aiden." Ashley said. "It’s too bad about that Van DerGeest girl though…Maybe she’ll switch teams when she realizes the only two hott lesbians on campus are dating each other" Aiden said. Ashley laughed, exclaiming "Doubt it!" Spencer chirped in, "I could always break up with Ashley and sweep her off her feet". She, of course, was only teasing. "Umm…I don’t think you’re her type, babe" Ooh. Bad move, Ash. "And what’s that supposed to mean?" Spencer spat, crossing her arms and cocking an eyebrow. Aiden was sitting back now, anxious to see what would unfold. "I’m just saying that you don’t seem like the type she’d go far. She seems like she’d prefer the more dangerous, rebellious, kind of girl. That’s all" The swords had been drawn. "Like you?" Spencer asked, sarcastically. "Yeah, actually. Like me" Ashley replied. She obviously didn’t see that this was a rhetorical question. "Ladies, ladies. Put your swords away!" Aiden exclaimed, quickly mediating the situation. "There’s only one way to settle this…" "Ewww, no! I am not battling for another girls affections with my girlfriend. That’s just wrong." Apparently, she had been a step ahead of Aiden cause he hadn’t even gotten there yet. "Yeah, we wouldn’t do that. Ashley’s always been a sore loser" Spencer playfully sneered. "Excuse me?!" They were nose to nose now, a playful smirk on both their faces. "First to make her go for it." Spencer said. "Define ‘go for it’, babe" Ashley smirked. "You can define it any way you want" Spencer replied. She pulled up her back pack from its place on the hot cement. "I’ll call you afterschool, don’t wait around for me" Spencer said seductively. As she walked away Ashley turned to Aiden, the same shit eating grin still on her face, "Let the games begin."
