"close your eyes, spence! I’m serious! no peeking!" i stated excitedly as i led spencer through the kitchen to the breakfast table, making sure to keep my hands over her eyes the entire time. so, i mightve never actually cooked before but i do watch the food network religiously and if emeril and rachael ray can do it, then i sure as hell can. "Ashley Davies, chef extraordinare" kind of has a ring to it, right?
"okay…open sesame…" i warily uncovered her eyes, nervous for her reaction to my kitchen concotion. "awwww, ash." before i could soak in her exultation, or say anything in response, i felt her arms encircle the small of my waist as she touched the tip of her nose to mine. "you’re actually amazing" she whispered before pulling me into a gentle kiss. "hmm..well, you were pretty amazing last night" i whispered back, a devlish smirk on face. i didnt want to lose the moment. i’ve been around the blocks a enough times to know that sleeping together can really just be sleeping together…not a sedgeway into the perfect relationship or the beginning of something great. all the emotions i had built up for spence, all the feelings i had harbored for what seemed like forever, had finally broken loose. this wasn’t another "love em’, and leave em’" or "hit it and quit it". i know we’re going somewhere…i just don’t know where. and before school tommorow morning i need to find out.

breakfast? if there’s one thing i know about ashley davies it’s that she doesn’t cook and if for some unknown reason she decides too, her victim(s) should run as fast as there legs can carry them. the fact that she tried though…too cute. we ended up moving breakfast back to her room, sitting on her couch and cuddling between bites of french toast. i even managed to get ashley to watch a few episodes of "the hills" before she deigned to making fake vomit noises and rolling her eyes to the back of her head. we were laughing at lauren’s roommate, heidi, on the show when i remembered i had promised to help with dinner at home. "damnit, spence. why do you have to be a member of normal, functioning, family unit? get a rockstar dad and neglectful mom and we could totally spend days like this together all the time." i laughed inspite of myself and gently pushed her off of me as i began to search for my cell phone. "ash, do you know where i put it?" "no idea, babe. my room is like a blackhole. something goes in, never comes out." she yelled from the couch absentmindedly. i smiled to myself at the fact that she called me "babe" as i continued my search. "found it!" ashley turned her head "nice, any missed calls?" i shrugged, flipping it open. "no idea, it’s dead." i plopped down next to her on the couch. "so, spence…" i felt her shift on the couch as she tilted her head away from me, studying her socks with more concentration than i thought she had. "…what about "us"? i sighed, but before i could answer she spoke quickly again "i mean, if there’s an "us", i’m not assuming. just asking" without thinking, i reached for her hand, lacing her fingers with mine. "i’d like there to be an ‘us’ " she looked up from her sock grinning and i had to, for the hundreth time admire just how insanely cute she was. "do you think you could give me a ride home? i should probably be getting back..and there’s something i want to give you" "yea, of course. " she replied but not before kissing me. she grabbed her keys and i grabbed her hand as we galloped down the staircase and out to her car.

the car ride was frought with general cuteness. i kept stealing glances at spencer and her hand, which was still laced with mine, and i caught her doing the same. it was quiet, but not uncomfortable. i guess we were just soaking each other, our official new relationship, in. as we stepped up to her front door, i let go of her hand, semi autmomatically, semi consciously. "no, ash." "but spence…your mom…your brothers" "this is who i am. they’ll have to learn to deal with it" before i could come up with a response the door swung open and spencer’s mom bustled out. "spencer…" her eyes fell the few feet to meet spencer’s hand still gently gripping mine.
