Chapter 19 – This Time

Wednesday

”Baby Sis, what happened to you? You look so awful today!” Kit said as she handed the brown take away bag of Bette that is full of muffins.

The brunette just simply yawned and rubbed her eyes before she took the bag and balanced the take away paper cup holder that contains her two cups of coffee then slowly turned her back from her sister without even saying a word.

Kit chuckled then moved around from the counter to assist Bette who is still half asleep despite the fact that she already had an early shower to start her working day.

”Hey! Let me take care of that. I’ll help you bring your muffins and coffee to the van but for now you better get on the back and say hi to Tina and Alice. They are having their breakfast with Shane.”

”Oohh… Okay. Thanks Kit! Make sure that Cathy and James will not drink my coffee. Okay?” Bette said as she reluctantly let go of her coffee which she really likes to drink immediately to perk up her senses.

The brunette walk towards their usual table when they are at the back of the café and couldn’t help but make some few stops along the way whenever someone greets her until she reached her destination.

”Babe.. Morning.” Bette leans down and kissed Tina on the lips.

Tina slip her hand at the back of the brunette’s head to deepen their kiss then the blonde pulled away to take in the appearance of her fiancée as Bette took a sip on Tina’s cup of coffee.

”Good morning too Babe.” The blonde said as she smiled and caress the tired and sleepy face of Bette.

Bette returned the smile of Tina and kissed the forehead of the blonde tenderly before standing up straight to say hello to their friends who are looking at them with a grin on their faces.

”Hey! You two! What’s with that grin?” Bette asked while she is neatly rolling up her long sleeves into three fourths.

”We were just talking about you and how Tina misses you a lot.” Alice said cheekily.

Bette brought her gaze back to Tina with a smug look on her face which made the blonde playfully slapped her on the arm.

CHAPTER 18 – Bitter and Better

BETTE’s HOUSE

“Babe, wake up..” Tina stirred the brunette who is still lying on her stomach.

“Mmm… I’m still sleepy Babe.” Bette said sleepily.

“Bette it’s already 10:30 in the morning. You still need to pick-up Madie and Mika at their hotel.”

Bette slowly opened her eyes and reached out for Tina who is now standing at the bottom side of the bed. “Come here and give me a morning kiss.”   

“No. You need to follow me now on the kitchen so that we can have our breakfast together.” Tina walked towards the door of the room.

“Why?”

“What?” Tina controlled her smile before she looked back at Bette who is now sitting on the bed.

“Why can’t you give me my morning kiss?” Bette said while stretching her arms.

“I have already given you your kiss twice this morning and each time I kiss you, we end up making love. So kissing you again is such a bad idea.” Tina said then she turned her back and headed straight to the kitchen with a grin plastered on her face.

Bette followed the blonde immediately by picking up her tank top and her yoga pants from the floor and putting it on while walking towards the kitchen.

“You know that it’s not a bad idea Babe. We still have more time to make love because the hotel is just near and I can drive fast to get there on time.” Bette said while she is pouring a coffee on the two cups that she pulled out from the cupboard.

“Babe, I just don’t want you to be late because I don’t want Mika to think that you are not that excited to see your daughter. I know that you have waited for this day to come so that you can be with your daughter again so please don’t give her reasons to think that she’s right to keep Madison away from you.” Tina said while transferring the pancakes to their plates.

“Yes, I know Babe. I was just thinking about Mika. She seems weird yesterday. I don’t know what to think.” The brunette said as she sipped her coffee and read the newspaper.

CHAPTER 17 – Too Many Walls

At The Planet

The girls just all stood behind Bette as they stared in shock when they saw Mika approach their table and called Bette.

Bette couldn’t believe that Mika is standing in front of her again after what had happened between them back in Boston. She almost fainted when she turned her back and came face to face with the woman that she once loved before.

“Bette, can we talk?” Mika asked while her eyes travelled from Bette’s face down to the hand of the brunette which is still entwined with the hand of Tina.

“Babe..” Tina nudged the brunette who is just staring back at the other brunette.

“Yes?” Bette said as she was brought out from her shock. Then she shook her head in disbelief “I mean.. What are you saying? You want to talk to me? What for?” Bette asked again angrily.

Mika looked at the friends of Bette who are obviously all stunned to see her presence at The Planet. For sure they know about what had happened between her and Bette and it suddenly made her squirm from where she is standing.”

Mika couldn’t help but feel really unwelcome even if she used to hang out with them when she was still the girlfriend of Bette, right now she could sense that any time one of the girls will pounce on her and hurt her for hurting their dearest friend.

She looked back at the brown eyes that are staring at her angrily. She felt sick to look in the eyes of the woman whom she loved before and if she is still honest with herself, she could say that she is still in love with this woman.. her ex-wife, her Bette.

“Bette.. I..” Mika swallowed the lump in her throat and when she blinked a tear dropped from her eyes.

“I called you but I couldn’t get through you and I really have no time to contact you again so I decided to just drop by to see you here. I’m sorry.” Mika looked away so she was unable to see the confusion in Bette’s eyes.

“When did you try to contact me?” Bette asked then she squeezed Tina’s hand which she is still holding. The contact of their hands brings comfort to the brunette as she face her past and it made her feel at ease and more confident again.

CHAPTER 16 – Letting her go.. Getting her back

Tina watched as Bette laughed heartily with Lara who is feeding the brunette some of the sample cupcakes that she baked for Kit which the older Porter plans to sell at The Planet. The blonde’s heart skipped a beat when she saw Bette laugh again when Lara put an icing on the tip of the brunette’s nose. Bette shook her head and took a bite of the blueberry cheese cupcake that she is holding then she held Lara’s neck so that the redhead will not be able to run away from her then she brought the cupcake that she was holding to Lara’s mouth. The redhead laugh too when the icing smudged around her lips.

The blonde frowned when she saw Lara gave the brunette a look full of lust. She shook her head and tried to control her feelings. She shouldn’t feel like this towards Lara because she knows that the redhead is a nice person. Not just nice.. she knows that the chef is beautiful inside and out so she isn’t surprise at all that the brunette love Lara.

She leaned back and put her elbows at the top of the counter and adjusted herself as she continuously looks on at Lara and Bette from the distance. She remembered the last time she fought with Bette at their office and the tears welled up in her eyes.

They say that if you love someone, set them free, if they come back they’re yours, if they don’t they never were. That is something that Tina believes in and she thinks that Lara also believed in that and she admired the redhead for that. Lara deserves Bette in her life and she knows that her decision is right. She wants the brunette to be happy and sometimes some happiness can only be brought out by other people so she just stared as the two playfully eat the cupcakes in front of them.

Kit saw Tina in the counter so she decided to approach the blonde “Hey Baby girl! Why are you crying?”

The older Porter embraced the blonde then she looked at where the eyes of Tina continue to stare.

“Are you still affected with Lara and my Baby Sis?” Kit asked as she wiped the tears that flow on Tina’s cheeks.

CHAPTER 15 – Past, Present, Tense

Bette’s House

Tina awoke with the light caressed on her cheek. She didn’t open her eyes yet because she still wants to feel the loving touch of Bette. She secretly smiled when she remembered what had happened last night. Until now she couldn’t really believe that she had proposed to Bette. Who would even think that she would do that? Even Alice will not be able to anticipate that kind of move from her. Bypassing the girlfriend stage and going straight to proposal? Sounds crazy but then again she is crazy in love with her bestfriend. And the last thing that she would want to do is to let other women get the chance to steal her love from her. No Mika, Lara, Naomi or other woman can take Bette away from her.

Two hours ago when she woke up and went to the kitchen to quench her thirst she immediately returned to bed and found herself happily looking to the most beautiful woman that she ever saw in her life. She couldn’t believe that it took her so long to recognize the love that she feels for her bestfriend so she considered herself lucky enough to still be given the chance to be with the love of her life. As the tears of happiness rolled down on her face she contentedly smiled until she had fallen back to sleep again.

However, even if the blonde wanted to continuously pretend that she was still sleeping once she felt Bette’s lips on her neck, she wasn’t able to control her moan and she instinctively reached out and wrapped her arms around Bette’s neck. She pressed Bette’s head closer to her neck again when the brunette was already about to pull away.

The highly amused brunette licked the sensitive part of Tina’s neck which made the blonde shiver. The blonde opened her eyes and saw the brunette smirking at her. She smiled happily then greeted Bette with a kiss on the lips. “Good morning Babe.”

Bette moved closer to Tina while she was still lying on her stomach then she moved her arm and wrapped it around Tina’s waist. The brunette leaned in closer to the blonde and kissed Tina softly before burrowing her face between Tina’s head and shoulder. “Good morning too Tee.” Bette said huskily.
